Privacy Policy

Skydeck (“we,” “us,” or “the service”) is a cloud certification study platform. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Skydeck, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the study experience and keep your progress in sync.

When you sign in and use Skydeck, we handle the following:

• Account identity. You sign in with Google. We receive your Google account identifier and the basic profile information Google returns (such as your email address). We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Profile data. On first sign-in we create a profile for you with an automatically generated display username. You can change this username later from your profile settings.
• Study progress. We store the activity needed to power the product: which study cards you’ve viewed, the answers you submit, your accuracy by domain and task, and your earned XP, daily streak, and longest streak.
• Usage and diagnostics. In production we use privacy-respecting product analytics and error monitoring to understand how features are used and to detect crashes. This may include device and browser information, pages visited, and technical error details.

• Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• Save and display your study progress, XP, streaks, and leaderboard standing.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the platform.
• Diagnose errors and prevent abuse.
• Respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your study data to serve third-party advertising.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Skydeck. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:

• Google — authentication (sign-in with Google).
• Supabase — authentication, database, and hosting of your account and progress data.
• PostHog — product analytics (production only).
• Sentry — error and performance monitoring (production only).

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your profile and associated study data, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations.

• Access or update your profile information from within the app.
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Sign out at any time to end your session.

To exercise any of these, contact us at contact@skydeckapp.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls scoped to your own account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Skydeck is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app where appropriate.
